Condition Treated

From preventive care to emergency pet care, the veterinarians in Indianapolis at our Augusta Animal Clinic are available to treat your cat, dog, and other domesticated animals. Our goal is to help keep your beloved pets healthy and happy.

Preventive Care Services

The easiest way to keep most pets happy and healthy is with regular wellness exams. During these once or twice per year appointments, our vet administers new vaccination when necessary, such as for kittens, puppies, and unvaccinated adults, and routine boosters to maintain immunity. These screenings also check your pet from the tips of their ears to the pads on their feet for signs of disease or sickness. If problems arise, additional tests are run to rule out conditions, and a course of treatment is prescribed. For example, the vet finds a broken tooth during a regular dental screening and either removes it during the appointment or schedules a surgical extraction. They also offer routine dental care such as cleanings that can prevent teeth from rotting.

Additionally, our vets perform routine surgical procedures such as spaying, neutering, and inserting microchips.

Conditions We Treat

There are many conditions we can treat at the Augusta Animal Clinic.

It's not uncommon for pets to have allergy and skin issues that need regular treatment. After the initial diagnoses, our vet can treat most dermatology conditions including,

  • Allergic Dermatitis (from fleas, dust, grasses, and specific ingredients in food)
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Lick Granuloma (from excessive licking)
  • Cushing's disease
  • Ringworm
  • Nutrition and Weight Management

Like humans, essential health care for pets includes optimal nutrition and weight management. Our practice can help create a diet and exercise plan to get and keep your cat or dog at a healthy weight. If your pet is experiencing cardio or gastrointestinal issues, nutritional counseling might be part of their treatment plan.

These are only a small portion of the conditions we can diagnose, treat, and cure. Along with medical care, our clinic also offers behavioral counseling and end of life care.

Urgent Care with our Indianapolis Veterinarians

Sometimes, no matter how vigilant owners are, sickness and injuries can arise, requiring emergency pet care. Our veterinarians have the education, experience, and access to the state-of-the-art technology necessary to complete emergency procedures. These include an on-site laboratory, radiology, and surgical facilities to perform routine or complex surgeries with anesthesia, and pain management during and after the operations.
